Remove Service Fuse Carriers Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) 

SWMS Overview 

This SWMS outlines the safe procedure for the removal of service fuse carriers in low-voltage electrical installations. Key hazards include electric shock, arc flash, and burns from live parts. Controls include electrical isolation, testing for de-energisation, use of insulated tools and arc-rated PPE, and ensuring a trained standby person is present.

The task must only be carried out by qualified personnel who have current training in Low Voltage Rescue and CPR. Work should follow a formal pre-start risk assessment, include appropriate signage and barriers, and comply with relevant electrical safety regulations and Australian Standards (e.g., AS/NZS 4836).
