Installation of Metering Equipment Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) 

SWMS Overview 

This task involves the installation of metering equipment for electrical supply, including mounting, wiring, and commissioning at the point of supply. Key hazards include electric shock, arc flash, incorrect wiring, confined workspace, and manual handling injuries. Control measures include isolating and proving de-energisation, lockout/tagout procedures, use of insulated tools and arc-rated PPE, ensuring correct wiring and polarity, and following distribution network provider requirements. Only licensed electricians are to perform this work. All personnel must be inducted, and emergency response procedures must be in place and understood.
