Installation of Metering Equipment on ACM (Asbestos-Containing Material) Meter Panels Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) 

SWMS Overview 

This task involves installing metering equipment on meter panels that contain or may contain asbestos. Hazards include asbestos exposure, electric shock, and arc flash. Control measures include assuming panels contain asbestos unless tested, avoiding drilling or disturbing the panel, wearing appropriate PPE (P2 mask, disposable coveralls, gloves), isolating and testing circuits, and using wet methods or HEPA vacuums to control dust. Only trained and licensed personnel are to perform the work. All asbestos waste must be correctly bagged and disposed of. Emergency procedures and inductions are required.
