Key risks include electric shock, contact with live parts, damage to underground assets, manual handling injuries, and excavation hazards. Controls include isolating supply, confirming underground services before digging, using insulated tools and PPE, and following lockout/tagout procedures. Only licensed personnel are to carry out the work. Emergency plans must be in place, and all workers must be trained and inducted.
