This task involves the installation of overhead service mains from the point of supply to the customer’s point of attachment. Hazards include working at heights, electric shock, falls, dropped objects, and contact with live or nearby services. Control measures include isolating supply where possible, use of elevated work platforms (EWP) or ladders with fall protection, appropriate PPE (including insulated gloves and arc-rated clothing), maintaining exclusion zones, and using certified lifting and rigging equipment. Only qualified personnel are to carry out the work. All workers must be trained, inducted, and emergency procedures must be in place.
